great card

I coupled with with a 4xxx amd cpu and its playing MGS ground zeros and shadow of morder just fine. cant speak for the noise because I don't know if its my noise stock cpu cooler yet, or if its the gpu. eitherway the card is a great price and instantly turned my pc into a respectable gaming platform

a great card

first off like the other guy what noise, this card for me is totally silent, what a performer for such a little card, i am running all my games at 2560x1600 with this card, yes it cant run everything at full whack but what the hey, my entire system uses less than 150 watts (plus 37watts for my monitor) and i am getting very playable gameplay, sure it will never beat a gtx 780 but for any one using resolutions less than what i am, you should be able to get a good mix of performance and quality and save money on your electric bill, my 780 had nothing but problems, errors popping up all the time dxgui device has hung and your graphics driver failed and restarted, none of those errors have occured with this card, just to give you an idea i will list my sniper elite 3 specs...

resolution 2560x1600
textures = ultra
shadows = ultra
anistropic filtering = 8
supersampling = off
anti aliasing = high
draw distance = ultra
motion blur = on
ambient occlusion = on
tessellation = on
obscurance fields = on

during gameplay the fps is 30-50 at times it drops lower but only when i get a kill cam, farcry 3 runs at just over 25 fps but looks great and bf4 plays at 30 to 50 fps but lower when i die sometimes, all in all this card offers value and some good scaleability, if you are still using 1080p then no probs everything full whack, for higher reses its a bit of a mix and match and all for 60watts :)

What noise?

I got this preinstalled in a system from overclockers; I have it overclocked to a max freq of 1,450 MHz. While it's true the fan does idle at 42% I have to say that the system is totally silent. It out performs my old systems 6970 HD while maintaining 45 degrees (ish, depending on your ambient temperature etc and other components). Fantastic card for a fantastic price.

Too loud

Please consider another card before buying this if you value your sanity and ears. It runs everything I throw at it on high or ultra, but the noise is RIDICULOUS. The fans cannot go below 42% at IDLE.

Let me just make that perfectly clear: YOU CANNOT PUT THE FAN SPEED DOWN BELOW 42% EVER, NOT EVEN WITH MSI AFTERBURNER OR OTHER THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS. They released BIOS drivers to 'fix' this -- as of 08/03/2014, it does sweet fuck all.

It sounds like a fucking jet engine. It's absolutely absurd that a manufacturer would ever consider this to be an acceptable level of noise. I regret buying this card so much. As soon as I can afford a better one I will upgrade immediately and destroy this atrocious cacophony.

Giving this 2 stars because it can run games well... when I can hear them over the DIN of its LUDICROUS fans.

Badly done.
