Hi all, I know we had a thread simular to this a few months ago and that we already have a Left 4 Dead thread, but I thought with the demo for the second game due out soon, that it may be worth having a thread for it. I will try to keep the first post (I.e. this one) updated with any ocuk server IPs and ways to connect to them as well. I'm really looking forward to this game. :)

I am constantly updating this thread's first post with relevant information as time goes on so people can keep checking back here for server details etc.

Just check on other online retailers, and you still get the baseball bat and early demo if you from somewhere else other than Steam :)

Definitely worth having this thread - having a first post by someone that can actively maintain it is good :)

Once L4D2 is out, I vote we close the thread and move all conversation here.

the fact most mice only have 2 buttons is a major one.

combined with the fact you don't need them.

Not to derail the thread ... but it doesn't stop other developers from including the option. Thats where the keyobard comes in handy.

It would be interesting to find out how many left 4 deaders would wan't the option included.

It's like going back 10 years and being forced to use the crosshair.

I think its done to encourage a more run and gun style of gameplay. If everyone was using sights it would slow the pace of the game down, thus forcing the director to send constant hordes and tanks at the players. This would then lead to whining from people saying that playing tactically is too hard or too easy. Plus with the matchmaking system you'd get inconsistent groups of players, with some choosing to play slowly whilst others blitz the levels.

No most other devs bind sight to the right mosue button.

vlave can;t do that because they use it for melee

But it would be use less the weapons are accurate enough and the game played in such close quarters that it would be pointless.

unless you're one of those people who think that when you look down the sight it magically zooms in to make it easier for you.

Can't wait for the demo, it's going to be mental and probably unplayable, but it was still a right larf last time.

I like my iron sights, but I wouldn't ask for iron sights in L4D unless they dramatically decreased the pace of the game and opened up the world a bit. Iron sights just don't suit L4D.

What do people think about making a new steam group as well? Or shall we just use the OcUK Left 4 Dead group we have already?

Note: If someone makes it then being a group made for OcUK, you have to be prepared to make some other people admins and give them full control.
