We have an amazing array of folks on OcUK, and I am certain someone either works in the industry or has good experiences with matresses.

My parents are now late 60's early 70's and they require a new king sized matress. My father has MS and good support would be beneficial.

Who recommends what, and from where? What sort of price are we talking also?

TIA.

You need to search for a member called Matt_Riss

He's an expert in these kind of things, failing that, visit a bed shop :)

Go for a NASA Grade Silent Knight Space Matress...

Failing that fit a decent matress with Tempur oversheet, rather comfortable. ;)

Evil? They're not going to eat your soul during the night. :p

Memory foam does have a reputation for being hot, however. Some of the newer 'models' may come with ventilation holes to combat this.

My personal choice was to go with a combination - pocket sprung base with a memory foam top. Very expensive (I paid £900 for my double mattress and £300 for the base to put it on, king will be more), but very much worth it. Had mine two years now and no major sign of wear yet.

Don't forget that the average life of a bed is 5-10 years. Assuming mine lasts 10 years, which it should, 40p/night doesn't seem like bad value to me.

All that said, I can't offer a recommendation to go that way because of the MS and the cost. You should seek advice from an approriate organisation/expert.
