On 40/10 (obviously) and 17a, does the increased speed just give you the most you can achieve up to a maximum of 80/20? BT checker reckons 47.8Mb download and 10.9Mb upload.

More or less yes. Before my upgrade my max attainable stats were generally saying 81000 down and 17000 up. After the upgrade I'm hitting 74826 down and 16877 up so a bit under the previous max attainable rate.

Since your max attainable is saying 77832/30841 it's likely you'll get over 70000 down and the full 20000 up.

So can I assume that we will never get faster speeds ? (Not that I am complaining for 38 down 9 up !!), I read somewhere about "Vectoring" may improve the speed but I don't know if my line is suffering from Crosstalk ? or how many people are already using it on my Cabinet ?

initial, before doing anything other than hacking the router. Should probably also point out that I have been "limited" to 4.8mb upstream for ages, as that is what my asus black diamond router auto reported the rate to be, I manually adjusted it to 10000kbps and it change the pre qos uprate to be 7mb as shown in the second image.

shouldnt I be getting a higher upstream on the speed tests? That one is the highest I seem to get between the different servers, and BT's gives me 32/7

Vectoring might help. I'm waiting for fibre on demand.

Speed tests give 36/6 and real world usage tops out at 4.6MB/s down 800KB/s up.

Hi guys, hoping someone can give me some advice.

I upgraded to the free 80/20mb upgrade last Thursday and I was told by BT I could get atleast 74/16. I went ahead with the upgrade and it went through overnight, however it was at 30/5. Previously it was running at 38/8 stable for a very long time so I went through a lot of hassle with them and long story put short they said I have to wait 10 days.

I've reset my router a few times within the past week but still no luck getting the speeds up. I then thought I'd unlock my modem to see my stats:

Now it seems to me I should easily achieve those speeds quoted by BT but just wanted your opinion on the matter come Monday when it'll be 10 days up so I can put a case forward.

Any help would be appreciated

I think what BT have done is capped the line but won't admit it, I'd have appreciated if they did tell me they did for stability purposes or whatever but the fact that they aren't telling me anything until 10 days are up is annoying me

What does annoy me is that my contract as been renewed for another 18 months, & I don't get the free speed upgrade.
