I know I'm not technically a new member having crunched for OCUK in the 90s, but I'm proud to be crunching SETI again after a very long time away and nearly in the top 100 after only a month.

Hope to have a 480 coming on line very soon and my 2600K back from Intel once they replace it.

Watch out those in line, I'm coming through!

Erm.......

I've just pressed buy on some new shiney stuff........

So, I may very well be putting a few GPU's up in members market over the weekend.

I needs to bolster my poor slacking RAC.........

Anyone else finding that they have trouble downloading CPU workunits? Getting some (not a lot) of GPU wu, but surprisingly quiet CPUs...
don't even know if the old rescheduler/rebrander works?

Mine is very messed up at the moment. I set the cache of 10+10 days so I should get the maximum number of units possible and while a few systems do get enough, the majority (including my main rig) only have enough for a few hours. My laptop has probably 25 WUs ready to start which take about an hour each. My main system has about 10 units for my i5-3570k and the odd few here and there for my GPU :(

Just constant Communication deferred and Download: Pending all the time. My 670 is no where near maxed out.

Bugging me at the moment as my average credit would be so much higher if I had the WUs to crunch.

I was toying with getting a cheapo £100 quid card for the office system to improve my RAC but if it's not going to get any WU then there's no point really

Work shortage is a recurring theme- but usually just a temporary one.......fingers crossed :)

I'll have a couple of cheapo GPU's ready to sell off in a day or so ;)

Out of interest what are they? The work system is a Dell with probably a standard, generic PSU so i'd imagine has one PCIe 6 pin connector if i'm lucky ha.

Also is there anyway to set priority to certain projects? So for example if I run out of SETI work, it will switch to MilkyWay but as soon as SETI work comes in, it starts crunching those instead?

I have my settings to:

Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least (max 10 days). 4 days
... and up to an additional 0.01 days

Which I was recommended to do with my GPU machines.

But nothing really helps if the servers at b0rkeley won't play ball, you just have to babysit your rigs and keep hitting "Retry All" in BoincTasks Transfer window :(

I'll change it to those for the time being and see if that helps. I want to try and keep both my CPUs and GPU filled up rather than one or the other, which has been the case recently :(

On the other hand MilkyWay has a never ending supply of WUs!

I got two GTX460's (EVGA's) - they are slightly different specs as one ia an RMA replacement direct from EVGA.

Can't be sure - but I think they require two 6 pin PCI-E connectors each (will check later).

Set the backup project to 0% resource share, then it will only download a wu when the primary project has no work. I have seen it work in the simple case of 1 primary and 1 backup project, but the universe will probably implode if you try it with more projects.:p
