Your a talented chap, elmarko. One of the things I always wished I could do was draw or paint....I'm rubbish.
Thanks :) - but I'm a total amateur compared to some in this thread (Some excellent artists on this forum).

I'm pretty sure most people can draw or paint given time! - but painting is most certainly therapeutic (to me!)

I need to start using my tablet - spent a fortune on a wacom cintiq & now just use paper/pencils/paint.

To me it feels much harder than actual painting or drawing, but it should be easier (as you have CTRL+Z lol).

It will eventually feel very natural. I now find traditional harder after 8 years on a wacom.

Some really nice work in here.

LanceCrossfire I think you'll have a job as soon as you finish Uni.

Only one thing with the last character is I find it hard to read. The colour palette is very monotone and the head gets lost in there. A third colour to bring out the face and character would have been nice. Also I would really try some other styles now than the Darksider inspired stuff, it comes through very strong in your 2D and 3D.

Thanks Meekon :D I actually got offered a position yesterday at a CG/Anim company in Manchester :) I can't commit myself until I finish University though at the end of April.

Thanks for the feedback on the work, the monster still has to have a diorama go with it and when I finish that I'll try and play with the colours/lighting to highlight the face more. Most of my 3rd year is a project on stylised art and Darksiders is a heavy influence within it, that's probably why you see a lot of fantasy stuff.

I also recently did some work for a Steam Greenlight game concept which is a lot less far out, I'll post/promote it shortly.

I've started work on a new human character model to which I'll probably do something a bit more 'grounded' (maybe a WW2 solider).

@Tephnos - It's a pretty simple image if you look at it, practice obviously helps in reducing time. I started using Photoshop just under 3 years a go and wouldn't have been able to do anything close to that, but the time investment does pay off.

Some very very nice work you have there.

Most certainly makes the jump from amateur to professional level.

How long have you been doing digital art for now?

I really need to spend some hard time improving as I'm considerably worse than I should be, alas it's the downside of splitting time between painting/drawing/playing guitar & writing music - not to mention too much time gaming!.

I started using Photoshop about a month before I started Uni (which according to my uni info is 2 years 6 months ago). Before that I hadn't done any art for about 6-7 years :(

I'm an on Games Art course but it has A LOT of 3D in it (infact only 1 module was dedicated to 2D work and I did that in 2011), so I don't get as much time as I'd like in Photoshop doing the stuff I want :(

Still, the standard of your work is very high (considering how short a time you have been at it) - good seeing it up here.

Need to focus on photo-shop more, as been moving from program to program - but keep going back to photo-shop.

Currently I'm only using it to prepare reference material for real paintings/drawings.

Congrats on the job, now you'll get to see how mundane it really is :)

I've been off for 4 months so looking forward to getting back on the Zbrush.
