The cream of Wii U gaming atm is:

Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii game, but plays on the Wii U)
Zelda OOT and SS (Wii games, but play on the Wii U)
Super Mario 3D World (not out yet - but we all know it's AAA)
Zelda Wind Waker HD
Rayman Legends
Mass Effect 3
Splinter Cell BL
Super Mario Bros U/Luigi U
Nano Assault Neo
NFS Most Wanted
COD Ghosts
AC3 and 4
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Lego City Undercover
Deus Ex: HR, Directors Cut
Nintendoland
Trine 2
COD BLOPS
The Wonderful 101
Sonic and All Stars Racing
Disney Infinity
Pikmin 3
Monster Hunter 3

Plus a nose around the Nintendo E Shop will uncover further budget gems.

Plus Sports (just launched Tennis and Bowling), plus the Party games/Singing games.

Don't be put off at picking up old Wii games (unless of course you had them on the Wii) - hit ebay and scoop them up for peanuts, get a slice of history.

If you're including Wii games then the list becomes quite long :)

Don't forget this first Mario Galaxy - it's amazing. Sin and Punishment 2 is superb. Little King's Story is so good it could be first party Nintendo. The list goes on and on.

I managed to get a copy of Pandora's Tower for £17.99, online is expensive for Wii jRPGs!

Xenoblade and the Last Story would be good to have but I missed them on release.

Not bought any games since Disney Infinity! Had too many to work my way through - Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, AC3 and GoW3 in between playing DI with my lad and daughter.

However, on Christmas day, the stock of games to play through should include Mario, Rayman, Wind Waker, Lego Marvel and maybe AC4/3DS Zelda!

The Wii U is on, without fail, every day. Sometimes it's Mario Kart Wii or SSBB, sometimes LttP on the VC, frequently Disney Infinity. It's a very family centric console - even more now you can use the Gamepad for original Wii games.
