Great. I can't order until next Monday so hopefully there will be some stock available.

Gives me less than a week to decide which cpu to go with my 1080ti. I need to slow down my upgrading habit as well so maybe the extra threads may make more sense in the long run.

It would help if anyone knows what motherboard would be good for a sensible price that will overclock without to much hassle. :)

We got plenty so do not worry, the only issue is were now struggling to hold this memory pricing as most of these are below the trade price cost.

Thanks for the tip. I may have seen a review on that one and it may have hot vrm's when overclocking.

I will double check. The price is reasonable. :)

I have the noctua d15s.

The AsRock is a better motherboard in the price range, but it's oos and doesn't come with free stuff. Is very well reviewed.

Both are good boards though.

The asrock board is being praised quite highly. I will most likely settle for that and with the saving over the higher priced boards, get the 8700k.

I did expect to pay £200 for a board but I really like what I am seeing on the asrock. Great recommendation.

Asrock are actually one of the best motherboards, but because they keep a low key, they get over shadowed by the other brands, yet from a technical and capability stand point, Asrock are one of the best, particular Taichi models, which 8 Pack would confirmed.

@Gibbo

It's great to keep the forum updated with things like this and I'll no doubt buy one in the next few months, but the thread title implies your previous pricing was unfair. Not the best marketing I'd of thought? :D

I think it's also partly due to OCuk's supplier charging them more as stock was very limited nearer to launch.

Any reason why none of the asrock boards never seem to be available on the launch of a new CPU?
I would have loved a taichi this time round but they were nowhere to be seen.

Because Asrock do not understand the UK market unfortunately, we pushed them like crazy, in the end for launch I think they sent 7pc to UK which then got shared amongst resellers, we got like 3-4pc, absolute joke.

Like I say Asrock make amazing stuff but their interest in the UK market seems none existent, we have being on our knees begging them but they seem not interested, I think the thing is other regions can sell same product for more money so they just leave it in other regions and support those regions which from a business standpoint if their growth plans are only so much I can understand.

It is a shame, I'd love to see them be a huge player in the UK and even better to just send all the stock to OcUK. We've proven our ability time and time again to bring unknown brands to the UK and make them explode, TeamGroup, GeIL, KFA2, Inno3D, Manli, Powercolor, Phanteks, Bitfenix and many more are brands years ago no one in the UK ever heard now some of these brands are outselling the big names in their relevant market areas. :)

I can concur. Their base Z370 mITX board contains one of the best VRM implementations I've ever seen!! Really top notch stuff, and allows some great overclocking

Indeed. This is also the case for X299 too. I was reading about X299 VRM thread on another forum and it was general agreed that Asrock X299 Taichi and their flagship Fatal1ty Gaming i9 XE mobos had the best VRM design containing superior intersil mosfets.

I have now seen as many reviews and videos on the Asrock board that I can find. I am looking forward to it.

I have a Ryzen 1600 running at 3.9 which is a very good chip. I didn't plan to get a 1080ti but got one due to my Vega plans not working out. I have a few games where the cpu is not feeding the card enough such as Project Cars 2 and Rise of the tomb raider which I play in 3d 1440p.

Tomb raider needs to be 60 fps locked in 3d but it dips to 45 fps regardless of resolution. I have an Asus 165Hz monitor so it makes sense to balance out my build.
