Just ordered a PowerColor Radeon RX 580 RED Dragon V2 Radeon RX580 Graphic Card 8192 MB to replace a Radeon 7950 3GB I bought back in 2013.

I tend to spend a max of around £ 200 on graphics cards and the price of some nowadays is ridiculous. Tempted to go for either a 1060 3GB or 1070 8GB but decided on the RX 580 8GB.

I currently get 2000 or so on the Time Spy benchmark so this should give me a nice boost.

You should be looking for close to 5000 when overclocked.

I did a similar upgrade, 7950 to Powercolor Red Dragon RX480 8GB in January last year. It's OK but having subsequently upgraded to both a 1440p monitor and Ryzen CPU later in the year, I do find I'm GPU limited a lot now so would prefer something more around 1080 performance levels. On a stock 2500k I shouldn't think you'll have that issue unless you are playing at 4k resolution however.

I did the same upgrade a few months back. Was a decent jump, runs everything I play fine at 1440p.

Freesync is great for smoothing everything out too when it drops below 60fps in demanding titles.

I have been seriously tempted. But resisting as I have convinced myself that with polaris being the age it is AMD must be launching something else soon... That and the Xbox has a half dozen games I havnt gotten to yet...

Yeah tweak bit the card with bit overclocking, you are almost there at 5000 :p

Tried a bit of overclocking. Got the core up to 1460 and it made it through the 3D Mark Timespy benchmark with a GPU score of about 4500, however my CPU score went down for some reason so my 3D Mark score was 3818 or so, slower than with just the CPU overclocked and GPU at stock.

Took me awhile to recover my CPU speeds and I'm not keen on trying it again.
