Have a look on Twitter and the EVGA support forum. I am not saying your card is gonna pop but be clued up and don’t just use it for Microsoft Teams and Excel when you get it, make sure you use it for some heavy 3d games.

@BaDBoY_uK can chime in as i know he posts on the EVGA support forum (assuming it’s the same one).

As said above, beat it to death with heavy 3D games and RTX as its the rtx which heats them up toasty. port royal in a loop for a few hours a day should warm it up nicely. A shame EVGA went downhill with cheaping out components, they were one of the best a few years ago!

Well I suppose actually it really doesn't matter about clockspeed because if a game really hammers the card there isn't a bios on earth that can sustain clocks over 2000mhz at the crucial moment but it's I guess about 100mhz in exchange for loads of noise, £25 a month electric and a boiling hot pc with no warranty.

I put a 5800X in the system with it, I took it straight back out and put a 5600X back in there. The 5800X just seems to dump so much more heat for maybe 2-3FPS more.

If it can stay at 2100mhz in Heaven and Valley it can probably do so in most non RTX games, the higher Wattage Bios will help as the last 3 Gens (1000/2000/3000) hit the power limit easily and in the case of my Titan Xp may be heat due to extra cores over my easier to OC 1080Ti but both did 2100mhz and my 3090FE does 2200mhz.

Early days so not 100% tested as busy and swapping some parts (it sat here a week in its box before fitting it), doing some work with the case and waiting in a riser to drop soundcard down to get more airflow.

I've gone straight for the 5600X. I only gamer, don't even stream. I might put a higher core count CPU in, if it becomes obvious games are taking advantage of them.

Is there a bios other than the regular 380watt bios for the gaming x trio that doesn't stop the fans totally unless you set them? All the other bioses fans show as 0%. Fans start working perfectly on the couple of 380watt bioses Msi put out intended for the card or if I set a curve manually in afterburner with any bios but I don't like the idea of that crashing or being closed and suddenly frying the card. I can probably stay at 2100mhz at a big push in that benchmark but no way in all games, there's always a rare moment where 1995mhz happens after a massive swing of the camera in 4k the Tomb Raider remake (first one) if you use SSAAx2 for example though this is the first card on the market capable of doing this so that's nice.

Saw this interesting video and in it, Linus mentions that both the 6900XT and the RTX3090 produced short 1000w transient spikes on the PSU.

Given the number of PSU threads we already have, I do wonder if in a year or two we'll start to see more threads about dying PSU's and people wondering if their graphics card did it.
