Wtf! You must be the most unlucky person ever or live in the most horrible area in the UK

These cars were thief magnets (and still are tbh). My mum had an XR3i which someone tried to steal. They were foiled by an immobiliser and steering wheel lock lol. I guess they didn't come prepared.

Passed my test in 2008

2001 Ford Focus 1.6 zetec
2003 Ford Focus 1.6 zetec
2009 Vespa GTS 125
2003 Toyota Yaris 1.3 T2
2009 Toyota Yaris 1.3 T3
2009 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Elite
2016 Skoda Fabia Estate 1.2 TFSI Monte Carlo (still own)
2009 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec (2nd car, still own)

I'm definitely more of a car enthusiast than my history suggests but living in terrible Manchester postcodes has stopped me buying anything decent.

On the road....

Yup, my S1 RS Turbo had an immobilizer and wheel lock yet got taken twice before I sold it, the S2 G plate RS had both plus a padlock style brake lock which they overcame and still had it away.

I'd love another, they were epic cars (the S2 was so much better than the S1, yet the S1 today commands the silly money) but, I'd be scared of leaving it anywhere given my past experiences....

Updated with vehicle registrations I can remember.

Funny thing is, I can't remember the Golfs.
(found the estate reg on a photograph).
They where reliable familiy transport, but as dull as dishwater.

I bought that estate for £6000, then px'd it for my £13,500 vRS 12 months later.
Skoda gave me £7000 px :o

I remember thinking, am I doing the right thing? :D

Too right I was, that vRS is the best VW I ever owned.

The only vehicle out of my list that broke down at the road side, as wasn't able to be repaired and make it home was the Mini 1000 Mayfair.
The flywheel fell off the engine!

Got to love Austin? build quality. 1985 reg

Wow, impressively short list. We started driving at approximately the same time.

i've tended to buy second hand then keep until uneconomical to repair. other than the Austin. that was first car to get the hang of driving 'properly'. and of all of them, the Escort mk5 lasted the longest. bought at auction in 2004 and i had it until 2011. 5-6 years or so seems to be the average cut off age for my purchases though :)

Just tried to change the oil on my 2017 Civic.
No where to jack it up other than the jacking point on the cill which means I can’t get my axle stands in.
Not getting under it like that.

Sad day when I can’t do my own oil change.
Need sports car ramps or something.

I wouldn’t be looking at a Ford with those other two on the list.
FK8 type R? Colour?
