No promotion of OcUK's competitors
We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-
  • Posting links to direct competitors websites (i.e. other computer e-tailers)
  • Posting links to computer related products at general retailers (e.g. Amazon, Argos, Tesco etc)
  • Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
  • Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
  • Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
  • Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
  • Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
  • Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
  • Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
  • Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
  • Disguising attempts to do any of the above

*Please note the above list is not exhaustive and is subject to moderator discretion.

Expected behaviours when posting on OcUK forums.
OcUK holds a strict policy of inclusion, as such, members posting in a xenophobic, racist, or in a prejudiced nature will not be tolerated. Posts that defame an individual or group of individuals owing to their race or ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, or sexuality for example (the list is not exhaustive) will be removed and a suspension to their account will be applied.

Failure to improve may result in moderated posting (posts requiring approval by the moderating team) or permanent removal of specific forums. Permanently banning the account will happen if the user fails to comply.

All we ask for is moderate and considerate posting, we do not want to stifle freedom of opinion or speech, but please do so in a considerate manner thinking about how others may interpret your post.

Please help us improve the forums by using the RTM function (denoted by this icon Report on the left) to advise us of posts that are out of line. Or you can discuss issues with us in the Forum Content Discussion area.

Customer Service Forum
As part of our commitment to improve customer service the OcUK Customer Service forum is now available. This forum is for OcUK customers only (forum membership required) therefore please include your Order Number or RMA Number in your opening post.

Posts are only visible by those that make them and OcUK Staff, who are members of the moderating team so your privacy is assured.

Alternatively you can use OcUK's Webnote system to contact us about pre-sales, order and return queries.

No anti-OcUK posts
OcUK will never allow these forums to be used by those who would seek to tarnish our name, no matter how justified they feel their circumstances are. Posts of an offending nature defaming OcUK, demoralising or demeaning the company name, complaints about bad service, etc. will not be tolerated. Please use the Customer Service forum to discuss issues with your order.

No swearing, posting of "adult" material, personal attacks or "trolling"
OcUK would like you and your whole family to learn and share via our forums. For this reason swearing and the posting of "adult" or offensive material is forbidden. Simply replacing some of the letters in a swearword with a * or any other character is not acceptable. If you must then please replace the whole word with ***** or other repeated character. We also expect members to behave respectfully and not launch personal or abusive attacks on other members. Those who post for the sole purpose of causing trouble are not welcome here and will be dealt with accordingly.

No medical advice
We ask all members not to ask for, nor give out, medical advice. This is because if a member of these forums gave out medical advice that was incorrect, the owner of OcUK forums could be held responsible.

No promotion of business interests or for self gain
You may not promote any website or business you have a financial or other interest in, or use the popularity of this community to help build one of your own. The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

No links or requests for "warez"
Providing or asking for information regarding "warez", "gamez" or any other software protected by copyright is forbidden. This includes discussion of 'chipped' or modified games consoles.

No "goodbye" threads
If you decide for whatever reason that you no longer wish to post here, that's fine, but you will not be permitted to post a "goodbye" thread.

No exemption of the rules for OcUK customers
These rules are in place to ensure the OcUK forums continue to be a friendly place where members can learn and share information on a variety of computing and non-computing topics. You do not have to be an OcUK customer to be a member, but if you are there is no exemption to any of the rules because of that fact.

What happens if I break the rules?
At best your post will be edited by the appropriate Don and you will be issued a warning. If the offence is more serious, your post will be deleted and you may be suspended for a period of time decided by the moderators. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse so please don't. For persistant and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Nuked". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and your account will no longer function. If you re-register, your new account will be nuked immediately. Multiple accounts are not allowed under any circumstances.

Please refer to the moderator (Dons) and administrator (Commissarios) section (here.) if you wish to contact the team.
