Sorry for so many threads recently but I've finally figured out what it is I want to ask.

Which cars are there that have <2 litre engines that produce 150+bhp?

The Mini Cooper S is a 1.6 turbo which gives 175bhp, which I thought was quite impressive.

Most F/I engines will have a fairly high specific output. Why the engine capacity is relevent or not to a car purchase is the question i would ask :)

Smaller engines won't always mean better mpg which i guess is what you're after? Look at japanese cars, the laws they have in place over there limit the size of the engine so the makers have to get inventive (thus the rotaries etc...). That still doesn't make them economic though.
