I HATE it however I have a problem, my boys LOVE it and I have a habit of licking the knife after spreading stuff on toast thinkng its jam (stupid brain)

That love or hate it guff is a great example of how advertising campaigns pervade the national consciousness.
I don't mind it. The taste is nice enough, and there's a distinct lack of savoury spreads I like, but that's offset by my often getting acid indigestion after eating it.

When I was about 5 I was dragged to a wedding by my parents. One quick marmite sandwich later and the bridesmaid's dress suffered a lot of slash damage Never forgotten that one
