I have upgraded every 18 months from 300d, 20d, 30d and now 40d!!

Also got a 70-300mm Canon IS lens and 8Gb Extreme IV CF card.

I must say the 40d feels better than my 30d for some reason and I love the new shutter sound. It feels like a bigger leap from the 20d to 30d, suppose thats the digic III processor.

Just taken this shot from about 6ft away at 300mm with IS on. Not processed the image apart from crop and slight sharpen.

Really loving this new setup...

Nice purchase, I've been impressed with the results I've seen from the 70-300 IS recently

I bought a 40D on Friday - impressed with the handling and build quality so far, the 400D by comparison now feels like a toy but I'm determined to hold on to it as well to use as a backup.

Ultimately, my purchase was a classic case of upgraditis - hopefully I will benefit enough from the faster FPS and AF to justify the money I spent

Can I ask what lenses you have? You may be better off investing in more lenses as opposed to upgrading your body every 18 months.

I have Canon 10-22mm, Canon 28-200mm and the Canon 70-300mm IS.

I use it for business as well as hobby, so upgrading is no probs and just as cheap in the long run.

Going to get rid of the 200mm and get the 17-85mm IS.

??

What's it doing?

light metering is going dodgy (what I mean by light metering is if I put it on F/8 - ISO 100 it works out the shutter speed).

It keeps getting it WAY wrong, I mean like 1/10th F/8 in bright sunlight and if I change mode and put it back it gets it back to 1/500th - 1/1000th....

Never been able to replicate it... just randomly does it! :(
