I've got some Crucial Ballistix 6400 in my system and CPUz is listing timings as 5-5-5-18. Do i need to manually change them to the 4-4-4-12 stated on the ram. will i need to change the voltage? the crucial site lists the voltage as 2.2, is that optimum operating voltage or maximium operating voltage? i'm at work at the mo so i don't know what mine is set at.

Also, when i start to overclock my system, what will happen to timings then? should i just let the bios do them automatically?

just change the values in the bios.

best loosen the timings manually when overclocking imo altho this RAM will go a long way before you have to change anything. i currently have my 6400's up to 463Mhz (1:1) @ 4 4 4 12 2T 2.2v

yeah my 5300 set is at 460mhz, 4,4,4,12 at only 2.1v

Great clockers :D

so should the voltage for this memory be set at 2.2v rather than the 1.8v default of my motherboard, regardless of whether i'm overclocking or not?

I always have my RAM set at its manufactures default.

So with them set it to 2.2V.

Mine are at 500mhz 4-4-4-12 with default 2.2V :)
