Someone just showed me this and it made me laugh, but is probably old, but a nice little MS Easter Egg

click start and run and type: c:\windows\system32\msgina.dll

choose to open it with notepad (not wordpad).

Then search for "p o o r" (without quotes).

Read the whole line you find it on :)
I just found another thing in the same document, there's several windows logos made out of ASCII art:eek:

Is that the same in vista also?

telnet is one of the original internet protocols that predates all this fancy http stuff, its still used now. You can telnet to your router I think, its for remote server control and the original rpg/wow stuff was done in it purely in text

In that movie, telnet is the windows program (its like http, a protocol) and the towel part is the remote server (like overclockers is) that provides the stream of text that is forming the animation.

No server or switch off the dsl & they'd be no text just an error message. You could still telnet the router or computers connected locally on a lan, also maybe your printer, etc

My routers 'easter egg' :p

telnet is useful for testing port numbers and stuff like that

You can telnet to websites like google on port 80 (they dont do anything once you do but hey)

It is also used when doign stuff with Cisco equipment at times.
