Best VFM Sata Hard Drives

i all ways run western digi drives, not allways cheapest but regaurd them as very reliable and never had prob.

how vital is it that this keeps going ? wondered if a raid setup would be usefull if its very impotant stuff would cost more but could set it up so it backs up everytikng as it goes so if 1 dive fails you havent lost anything.

It's a clan gaming server which we own our own server & is hosted + we have to pay the host to make any on-site amendments to server so want to keep it as short and sweet as possible to save on cost & would ideally like to keep the cost down to something sensible

well at the moment the best performing drive with speeed very close to he small but over priced rapters, is the new waaks series from western digital the fastest one being the wwaaks 750gb

these are expectred to be very fast drives but i dont think anyone has done a direct comparison between the yet.

My vote would be on the Seagates

however the WD waaks series is leaps and bound above its older series for reliability and performance...

Thanks TFD i think that's just the sort of info i was looking for :D + when are the seagates due for release ?
