some people would have complained specifically about a bad show, you didn't even say if the show was bad.
if there are 3 ad breaks in an hour show for instance, and the opening credits are 30 seconds, does it make a SINGLE bit of difference where they are placed? the answer would be no, not at all.
when i compare all the best drama's, comedy's, sci-fi, action, errm, basically all shows america wins. best comedy of the moment, might well be the office, with the US version being far better than the uk's, though that might somewhat be swayed by longevity, know characters better, more ways to make jokes. medical show, ER, house, basically crap all over holby city and the like.
sci-fi, firefly, buffy, stargate, startrek, vs what, current Doc who with utter tosh filming and acting, or, can't really think of other uk sci fi's, oh,, torchwood, complete crap.
sure theres plenty of crap us tv, you don't have to watch it all. given the chance to spend 1 hour watchinga show, i can't think of a uk show i'd choose over a US one now, or for the last decade really. plus, you can stay a day behind and sky +/tivo/v+ box stuff so adverts/credits basically aren't there.
