Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro

What is this like? i'm on a budget and dont want to make a wrong choice :(

any help, opinions kindlt taken will be using it on a 400D and ive currently only got the lenses kit that came with it

thanks for the shots i think i may just go for it! ive read the good and bad points but like ive said unfortunatly my budget isnt gonna get bigger:mad:
And with a snowboarding trip coming up its needed asap

well a certain high street store currently has it for £129.99 with a voucher code for £10 off i also have £40 worth of vouchers for said store.
they may charge more but i can pickup today etc

Make sure you get the APO

There are two variants, and the APO has the better optics

Just had a quick look online, and your High St store is charging a fortune for that lens if they're selling it for £129.99

|I sampled the lens in the store but found it to be a tad slow on focusing. Not nocking its ability but might just be a thought to try it out before comiting yourself - I have just waited and saving up for the 70-300mm IS USM by canon.

I have the APO version and its a great lens for the price. I've posted a fair few shots from it on these forums if you search (my site is currently down).

If you're finding it a bit hard to distinguish an APO from a non-APO, i believe the APO has the thin red ring around it.
