Ive seen you floating about the forums and always wondered how that anglia was getting on. Is that front/bonnet a one peice unit now?

And that pop has bags of character, is it all original? :D
Yeah I sort of lost direction on the Anglia for a bit but I'm about to get cracked into it again once I've made some space in the garage. It's a once piece fibreglass flipfront and underneath I've tidied all the front end up to suit.

Pop is all original apart from the engine rebuild ;)

Tell me.. was it in that condition for a pony? because if it was then it has to be the bargain of the century :D

Mechanically it had some issues but very little rust which is damn good for a 34 year old British Leyland car. Did absolutely nothing to the exterior except a quick t-cut and polish ;)

Probably spent around 400 quid on it in the end but have ended up with a motor thats seriously nice to drive and cheap(ish) to run.

M8 you are a lucky .... and for 34years old that is amazing. What were the mechanical problems if you mind me asking?

Well the reason it was in good nick was because it had been sitting in a garage for 20 years so generally most bits on it had seized up. It's still not uncommon to find cars in this time-warp condition either ;)

Engine was the main problem but it wasn't worth fussing over so I bought a guaranteed decent one for £50 and chucked that in instead. Other bits were brakes, minor suspension parts, and the fuel system. Took about 2 months of weekends to get it all sorted and MOTed, admittedly more than I had expected but didn't turn out too bad.

I really really really need to start using her again, been neglected (ie. not driven) for the past year or so, but safely in my garage.

They are cool! Saw one at classic car show/mph recently, and baby bertha at goodwood. That thing is a beast.

Yeh these are excellent. I have an old classic car magazine from 1991 with an azure blue firenza restored as a daily driver, never forgot it because of how the bloke painted the car, colour coded the alloys and the engine block and then put new cloth on the door panels instead of the nasty vynil that was there before. He had some trouble getting repair sections aswell if I remember...
