Yeh if you havnt got a licence you cant but he was saying he wated to get into airsoft and he was asking bout how to get a licence. Then he said it would be expensive but i was pointing out it depends where you buy from

So you can't import at all, even if you are UKARA registered?

Does this include parts too?

Yes you can import you just have to have the licence otherwise customs will just seize them.

it doesn't include internals. and should not include body's unless they are being used to manufacture realistic looking firearms, depends on the customs officer that picks it up for that point.

i was thinking about getting a license for importing/sales though, any idea how i'd go about that?

the only thing customs can take is the gun itself. The law that went through was for immatation firearms that why they class bright green blue orange and the rest of the colours ok. If you was to buy one of them in a shop you wouldnt need a licence.

As to the internals and acessories with airsoft you can buy any of that without a licence

As long as you are ukara licenced that i dont see why wou couldnt do somthing like that. Did you just want to set up your own website or somthing.

For those thinking of getting into airsoft, do not buy your weapons right away, airsoft is not for everyone. Go skirmishing a few times first using rented guns, ask others if you can hold their gun to see what its like so you can find what sort of gun you want to buy first, and most important that you will even like airsoft.

You don't need a 'license' to import. Being a re-enactor (airsofter), with public liability insurance, is enough.

If you are a shop you have to pay £300 to be ukara regestred. The skirmish players have to pay there membership fees of the skirmish site. Then go a few times in 2 months then fill out a form that they stamp then you send it off with a few details then you get your licence to buy them.

The reson they say you have to join a skirmish site to buy airsoft is because they have 3rd party insurance. Here is a quote from another airsoft site

the government unveiled their Violent Crime Reduction Bill (VCR Bill) which if passed in its current form will prohibit by law the trade/sale/import and manufacture of anything that looks like a firearm in the UK. The sport and hobby that we all enjoy now lies in severe jeopardy

I love that our "government" has yet again, managed to turn this lovely bit of "legislation" into a money rinsing enterprise.

For "administration costs" no doubt.

I thought the ban was just for buying them online. Does this include any gun that fires 6mm bbs? What about air pistols?

I have one of these that fires .77 pellets and is CO2 powered:
