K800i sms problem

Hi all,

Just finished setting up my K800i on PAYG Orange and have discovered that standard sms messaging appears to be totally disabled on the phone

When writing a new message the phone gives the option to create both picture/video/email messages but sms does not appear on the menu. It is also missing anything to do with sms settings (ie setting the sms centre number which is the only thing the orange site recommends checking). It does however receive messages just fine.

Is this likely to be a problem with the sim card or the software on the phone itself?

This is usually activated by sim update shortly after you call up to register the phone (essentially a text message) - you read it, then turn the phone off and on again and all works.

Might be worth ringing Orange.

Yep as csmager said, you need to get Orange to send you SMS settings if it doesn't happen automatically.

Go on their website and should be something there If not, give them a buzz and ask for SMS settings.
