Canon announces price and release dates for new supertelephotos

I was thinking it would be a £2k list price though.
For the first six months or so it will probably sell at list or very slightly below anyway.

Im also shocked by the 200f2IS price... I was expecting it to be only slightly higher priced than priced to the 200f1.8... with the half stop drop being cancelled out by the addition of the IS...
The 800f5.6IS is unfortunately about what i expected from the UK List price, a trip to the US to pick one up, pay tax, import duty and flights and i expect youd still get it cheaper.

Did anyone see the 800mm at Focus?? Wasnt as big as I was expecting!
That is one of the reasons why it's so expensive. It's smaller and lighter than the Canon 600mm F4.
