do like the look of that keyboard, would spend hours configuring the keys! Can you make all the keys flash on and off (so they gradually get brighter, then gradually dimmer)? that would be funky!

Awesome keyboard, lets hope other companies copy it and that they start to fall in price. It would be great for gaming and other specialised software.

It would make learning CAD and programming software easier to learn.

Everything apart from the price looks ace on this bit of kit.

If they can make it type well and be a lot cheaper then they are onto a winner...right.

Hehe, can't really compare learning those two, a monkey with a bag on his head can learn CAD :D

WOW. i gave up looking on their site over a year ago. for the past 6 years i had been looking, and it was always 'concept'.

i had my heart set on getting one, but i wont settle for anything less than the top end. at £800 i think i will hold on a little while longer. lol

I'm not quite sure what to say, I think congratulations on buying it is the closest but it still isn't quite right.

Technically a very impressive piece of kit although I'm not sure I'd buy one even if I had that sort of spare cash. Hell I'm still happy with my 4-5 year old £15 Microsoft job so I think that might be wasted on me. :)

How much for the UK layout version? :)

Love the date + clock on spacebar.

I wouldn't want to game on it though, I'd wear it out too quickly.

Not sure about F-keys spacing though, and the keys are huge compared to your dell !

Nice though, if crazy :)

Sorry but if you spent £800 they could at least thrown in the correct plug. Yet you still had to go out and get one. Deary me.

I'm not looking forward to my mid life crisis.

Thanks for the nice words :)

I'm not sure on the warranty (it comes with no manual or documentation - it might be online). It was bought direct through Art Lebedev so warranty would be through them i would imagine.

They keys are larger then my Dell keys but not by as much as it seems. The dell keys are smaller at the top than the botton hence there is a noticeable gap between the top of the keys, whgereas on the Optimus the keys are closer from a top side perspective. They are deffinitely a bit larger though.

for 800 quid they could have at least made the casing in aluminium like the new apple keyboard. Maybe its just the picture but the white plastic (and the writing) looks cheap IMO

I have a question for all those who said it would be great for gaming :) do you actually look at the keyboard while gaming? I know I dont

p/s: and d@mn, you could almost buy TWO 9800GX2 with that sort of money !!!

Since changing the keys is only a matter of reprogramming the LEDs it should theritically be possible to use the software to change it to UK layout rather than US?
