If you wanted to be REALLY anal you could point out that it would be just as unlikely to do it EURUSD and USDJPY and get hit with 2 lots of commission and charges, and take some exchange risk if you are playing with big money when you could do EURJPY

Who does it that way?

AFAIK its how most cross trades get executed - especially if you're working a large order.
