i was wondering if anyone had an idea how i could include a remote footer file in my websites. the situation is, a number of clients have recently decided to change the footer of the sites i created, and have removed the link back to credit me for the work. i can always just edit the footer file again, but i would prefer to store like a collection of footers say on my server and just link to them and style them with css for each site.

i plan on having 4 different footers, with different text (ie. created by link, designed by link, web development by link), and SEO info in the links and maybe a small image (logo).

any ideas on how i could go about this. i cant include a file from a remote location can i?

could i have say 4 different html files, and then have php in the footer on the site, and get the contents of the html file, and choose which file to get the contents on based on certain conditions...

thanks for any advice in advance :)
