BF2 - game won't load even after re-install and newest patch !! :(

i upgrated my computer now when i try to load BF2 it's showing me the first menu screen and that's it - stays in windows !:

when i look at the task bar it seems as it still there in the memory though ... :

i unistalled the game - everything exept profiles...instaled again ..updated PB to latest updated to 1.41 patch ...and again same problem
some 1 knows how to fix this ?? :mad:

it's the only game i play so ....

Is your firewall blocking the program?

Copy your profiles somewhere else, uninstall BF2, Delete all traces of the game including stuff in the My Documents folder, reinstall + Patch. Try the game again.

tried deleting the directory BF2 under MY DOCUMENTS ! - WORKED !!!
game loaded

...guess it was a profile thing

but i have 1 more question .... ....just bought a new 22' - why bf2 won't support WIDE resolutions ? i don't see 1680X1650 or 1280X800 :mad:

?

It won't be in the options, the thing with the icon is it's an override. Go into a game and the res will have changed

There is a wide screen fixer or something like that, it allows you to run it as wide screen with the correct FOV not just res.

Field of View - the command you add to the icon stretches BF2 to fit into the widescreen resolution so it doesn't quite look right.

ok downloaded it but what do i need to choose if i play on 22' on
1280X800 and 1680X1050 ?
do i need to choose 16:10 , 16:9 or 15:9 :rolleyes:

?
do i leav this "update rate" thing on 500 ?
do i need to turn it on every time i enter a game ?

isnt 22" a 16:10 screen?

I'd hazard a guess that you need 1680x1050 res

10x btw ...

1680x1050 (or what ever your want it to run at) native is better
16:10 since that's what your monitor probably is (16:9 is what a TV would be)

Yes i think you have to.

I personally don't use it, as it was a bit finicky to get going heh.
