Saw the 1996 movie on Sky about 3 months ago. Was pretty decent too (identical format to the show). The film involved aliens with huge heads. Cracked me up

I'm probably gonna get flamed by all the red dwarf Fans including myself but Hyperdrive is rather comedy IMHO

Worst thing I have ever seen on TV. Watched the first couple and it was like someone had watched Dwarf a couple of times but not really got it and decided to rip it off.

Can't wait for season 2 but I have no idea when it will air in the UK.

Oh and give Stargate SG-1 another chance as well, it's pretty good once you get into the characters, although it can be a bit Star Trekie with them visiting new places all the time.

You have wronged it greatly! I think it's actually superior to RD (although of course RD was groundbreaking and Hyperspeed would never have existed without it).

Firstly Red Dwarf is by far superior secondly If you're gonna defend it at least get the name right "Hyperdrive", however I do agree it's been given bad press and is a rather funny show
