Machine keeps locking up

I have recently formatted a friends computer but when I try to reinstall the drivers the computer keeps randomly freezing. I thought. Any ideas what could be the cause of the problem?

I thought it may have been something to do with the cpu overheating, but ive looked at it and is is fine.

Have you managed to get the drivers on at all? In what order are you installing them? Make sure to install motherboard drivers first then all the others after..I've had that make a difference more than once before.

Yes always installed motherboard drivers also tried ones from cd and latest from net.

Random problems would suggest either a ram or PSU issue.Try running with only one stick of ram maybe?
