3DMARK06 is not a good benchmark for next gen graphics cards. Furthermore, it is extremely cpu dependent and loves quad cores. Try 3dmark Vantage to get a better indication of how well your card will perform in modern and future games.

Yup - looks fine.

Also, have you set all the options in CCC to low or performance.

And what did you upgrade from? If a nvidia card then getting rid of all the drivers is difficult and can mess up scores.

Plus which ATI drivers are you using? 8.6 hotfix, 8.7 betas or 8.7 official? big differences in performance in 3dmark06 between them.

ANd as said, make sure everything is switched over to performance in CCC.

I am seeing very similar score to you with an E8400 @4ghz and 4850 at stock with no overclock running Vista 64 bit and latest Cat 8.7's will try setting CCC settings to performance see how that goes. Not that i'm bothered tbh just curios, all games are running sweet so no complaints!

vantage is for vista and not for XP..

and why would you downgrade to vista from XP if your a gamer?

With my lowly CPU and stock 4850 i get 11350 in 3dmark06, about the same score as i got with my 8800gt. Playing games @1680x1050 there is quite a big difference in most games.

believe its just an issue with 3dmark06 and new cards.
I got 15000 with my 8800gtx o/c q6600 @3gig.
then got 14500 with mt 280gtx with same setup.
Gaming difference is what matters though

I went from a EVGA 8800gts 640mb to a Sapphire HD4870 512 mb on an Asus Rampage Formula with a Q6600 @3.6Ghz and 4Gb ocz ram on vista 64bit .

I Un-installed nvidia drivers , swapped cards and installed ati drivers , ran 3dmark06 and got 16925 without oc on gfx card :D

i only got in the 14k with the 8800 and that was overclocked!!!

With my 4870 at stock and my e6700 @ 3.6 i only got 12.5k in 3d06, only a few hundred more points than my old overclocked 2900 got. Just goes to show how out of date 3d06 is now ;)

hmmm ....

:eek:ok it's on balance ...
u mean move it to "high perf..." or all the way left to " OPTIMAL perf...."

?
i'll run 3dmark06 again now on OPTIMAL perf....

btw :
1) wha't that adaptive AA ? it shold be on or off ? (default - off) and if on ..."performance ..." ? or quality ? super or multi ?

2) under "all settings" smooth vision HD af\aa .." should i make it on X16 if i see lot of HDTV lately ? cos if it's on aplication settings how do i know what's my player is doing ? (MV2PLAYEr) ?

3)in "more setting" under TRIPLE BUFFERING ? can i use that option ? right now i'm using fot it "d3d overider 1.5" by RIVATUNER so can i uninstall that 3rd party program if the driver can do it bt itself ?

4) under display manager - what will happand if i use the "FORCE" lock to 75HZ or 70 ...at 1650 res ? cos i hear my screen actually can handle those refreshes ...(70 - 75) in games(i got the LG 2252TQ) ...(also the samsung 226) ...
?

10x !
(wow ... now that i read what i'v wrote ..lot of questions)
