Best use of drives

I have a WD250AAKS and a WD1600JC at the moment.

I'm running everything on the faster WD250 and using the WD160 for backup using the backup facility in Vista64.

I need more storage space and am not sure how to proceed. Not interested in RAID at all BTW.

Would an external drive be safer for backup?
Is the WD250 still fast compared to the latest drives.

Can I put just my OS on one drive, all programs on another and use external as backup or is there a faster and safer way to do this.

Whats the best way to store my music and photos, seperate drive or just use one big one.

Any advice please:)

Mobo is an Asus P5K Premium Wifi/AP.

Get a big drive. Raid wont translate into much for dektop use. As for backup its up to you but make sure its reliable. You even have online backup nowadays.
