Howdo chaps,

My brother has just moved home following a split with his Fiancée & needs a new gaming rig to help spend his evenings while he gets himself back on his feet.

He's a little broke right now hence the small budget of £400 :(

He's after everything except Keyboard, Mouse & Speakers.

Can you possibly spec him something that will run recent FPS's like UT3, COD4 Etc. at a reasonable res & include a 19/20" monitor.

We can go second hand to maximise that budget if we need too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This might give you a rough idea, it is a bit over the budget but you should be able to pick up some of the parts secondhand like the graphics card, Ram, CPU or monitor which will save some cash.

That's true, soundwave should be fine in that regard. I just haven't linked up my account here with the one for the shop. Partly because I haven't needed to order anything just yet but also because a lot of the people asking for a spec are fairly new members.

Oh and the monitor is currently out of stock but it does seem like a good one.

Thanks for the spec Semi-Pro.

I think if we cant find the parts second hand then I'm pretty sure I can stretch to lending him £30 for that machine ;) lol

Will pass the spec on to him tonight & see where we go from there.

Only other thing I'd need then is the OS which was something I intentionally left out of the budget anyway.

Thanks again.
