I have Camelbak Mule (3L water + 9L cargo) and its a great bag. Very comfortable, times better compared with my old rucksack. The only serious minus I can think of is that its not very waterproof. My spare dry t-shirt got a bit wet after 4 hour ride in rain (in main compartment). The phone was dry though as it was in water resistant pocket on top of the bag. I think Mayhem would be as waterproof as Mule. Something to consider.
May be worth to have a look at the Camelbak Scudo? It has 3L water and 9.5L cargo, plus it has integral rain / mud cover.

I will post some pics if you want.

To carry 15 litres? I've got panniers, I can fit two x 2 litre bottles of drinks per side.
He wants 3litres of water and 15 litres of storage.

I'v been looking at getting something similar recently also (maybe a bit smaller tho)
I thought about getting a camelbak bladder to put inside a normal backpack i have. Bit of a cheaper option.

If you need to carry that much water I'd consider panniers or a trailer.

Panniers to ride singletrack?!? Hahaha.

I have the North Face Megamouth, and it does me well on any type of riding. 3l reservoir, plenty of storage, and webbing on the back for attaching armour or other kit.
