Depends what your definition is and what you're trying to look for\prove. The best cuts and the best edited films are the ones you don't notice.

That's very true, Walter Murch is a great editor, has anyone read his book on editing, 'In the Blink of an Eye'? It's a very good theory that good editing replicates the thought process of blinking.
