Just got Assassin's Creed, yeah i know im late! But ive read about it and seems that dx10.1 has been removed from the game? is it worth trying to add it back on? Is there such a patch? Sorry if non of this makes sense or is not right. Just going on what i've read!

Nvidia had it removed because they are sore lusers, and it can't be put back in unless you run the unpatched game.

Something like that anyway.

Just reinstall the game and do not patch it at all as the fixes are not worth the loss of 25% FPS boost DX10.1 gives this on recent ATI cards.

Apparently it only gives a good boost to the 2000 and 3000 series cards, the 4000 has working hardware AA and therefore doesn't get a boost.

Not according to the benchmarks!! 4870 512MB is almost around the same performance level as a GTX280 in this game once AA is applied. Not all ATI AA works properly as on Vista DX10.1 Edge Detect does not yet work on D3D games!! (MS takes the blame for this one apparently).
