Determining Small Business Server 2003 licensing mode

We have a SBS2003 system that was not installed by us. We need to add some more CALs but do not know which ones to purchase (per device or per user) because we can't find a way to determine what licensing 'mode' the SBS2003 system was originally installed in.

Anyone know if it's even possible to determine what licensing mode a SBS2003 system is in?

For the first 5 CALs that come with the server, you should complete the CAL license document. There is a field for writing in whether you would like to choose per user or per device CALs. For CAL add-on packs there are separate SKUs for per user and per device

I saw that on the MS site too. Unfortunately whoever originally installed the server did not fill this document in.
