Just brought Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Camera Lens and..........

wondered what everyone thought about it and whether I got it at a good price @ £79.99 unused. I'm told it is a good len and the price I got it at is a steal :confused:

As you can tell I don't know that much about Photography, but I'm learning!

I have one, bought about 5 years ago for just over £90. Its an ok lens, pretty good upto 200 beyond that it suffers abit. F8 is probably the sweet f-stop - for me anyways.

I don't use mine a lot but for the price it does the job.

It was a lens very much like this one that I started with, 20 years ago:

(The picture in the link is of the "L" version. mine definately didn't have the expensive red ring)

It had a micro-motor instead of USM. It had no image stabilisation. Just like yours...

I shot hundreds of rolls of film with it. Eventually wore out the lens.

It's the lens that got me hooked...
