Just had a look in the AMD forums to check on developments on the problem & it seems that many with 8GB of ram are the ones having the problems with incompatible driver error & disabling 4GB gets around the problem.

Yup seems to be it, yanked 2 sticks out of my system, went to contol panel > system > device manager, unistalled the 4870 with the exclamation mark next to it (checked box to say unistall driver). Vista then searched preconfigured folders to install the driver again.

BOOM back working!

I just pulled 2 sticks & installed 8.12 with 4 x 3780 xfire.

These are running nice. Was getting crashes on entering games with 8.11's but now running smooth.

Yours worked with all sticks in before but mine did not + im 4 x 3870 which may be an added issue with 8GB of ram.
If i pulled 2 gfx cards it may be ok but ill stick with 8.11 for now.
