Highs:

Finally getting the S3 I've dreamt about for years.
Karting at Thruxton.

Lows:

Losing £3k on the value of the car just 2 months after buying it.
Spending out almost £2k to keep her on the road; money which was supposed to be going on new alloys and suspension.

How bad where these? Just there looking very good used buys now.

Nothing particularly out of character for a luxobarge, i'd guess i'm looking at around £6000 in 18-19 months on various things now? I'd estimate that the car costs around £500pm all in except fuel per month to keep running, including tyres, insurance, etc etc. Thats at an average usage of around 1000 miles per week.

Edit: thats an average figure obv, although i am not organised enough to do it, if you were to chuck £500pm into a spare account once per month you should find that it will cover everything you'd need, if you use the car less you'd even find that you may end up with a surplus.

Highs:

-Picking up the Golf Edition 30 in June.
-Returning the Edition 30 and not getting charged for damage (see Lows)
-Picking up the Golf Pirelli in December.

Lows:

-Coming back to the Edition 30 which I'd parked up at Tesco to find some considerate motorist had hit the front bumper leaving it out of line with a 3 inch scuff in the paint, but no note.
-After work finding someone in the works car park had opened their door on the Edition 30 and again not left a note. For some reason I expected better from people I worked with.

Highs:

Driving a 997 911 Carrera S for all of August and only paying the petrol! (at 22 years old!)
M6 toll late one night in said 911.

Lows:

Selling the Punto as I can't justify a car in London
Knowing no car I can afford will compare to the 911 for a long time!!
