hi there , just got a annoying problem.
First here is my set up:-
cable modem to wrt160n
Cabled into router is two xbox 360,s and one cable to desktop Pc.
2 wireless connections for laptops
desktop and 1 laptop are running vista home premium.
1 laptop is running xp pro.

The problem is this.

Desktop pc can access all other machines- file transfer in and out fine.
When I try to access the shared drive/folder on the desktop using the vista laptop get a access denied error.

All machines can see and are shown in the networg groups.

So the question is how do I access the desktop using the laptop?
dont understand how i can access the laptop from the desktop but not the other way round.

Any ideas?

(Sorry if this as been asked before)

Just "seeing" the other devices on the network isn't enough. Have you checked all the file sharing options are turned on? I had some strange sharing issues with Vista and XP. Try right click > properties > sharing tab on the drive and playing about with the settings.

all sorted...........I cancelled all shares.....then changed my computer names on laptop and desktop enabled all permissions then rebooted . All now working.

Next step now is xp laptop to vista desktop.
Will do that tomorrow.

Thanks

Sorry for the bump but I have just ordered one of these myself and was wondering how you got on using 2 360s at the same time?

Cheers.
