Hi All

Just installed a Ford 6000CD unit in my uncles Ford Ka.

Bought the unit second hand with no manual, and the code written on the top was '6499'

Unfortunately, I dont know how to enter the code - especially as the digits along the front only run 1-6 ! As below . . . .

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Does this sound reasonable to people - seems like a lot of keypresses !

ie. Ford 3000 Traffic, 4000RDS, 5000RDS, 6000RDS, 6006E, etc
Switch the radio on and the word CODE should appear in the display
Repeatedly press button 1 until the correct first digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 2 until the correct second digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 3 until the correct third digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 4 until the correct fourth digit of the code is displayed.
Once the code has been correctly selected on the radio's display, press button 5 to enter.

If it's similar to the 5000 in my Mondeo, when it's flashing 'CODE' I think you press 1 repeatedly to get the first digit right (cycles through 0-9), 2 for the second digit etc. and then 5 I think to input the code.

That's going off memory from at least a year ago when I replaced the battery, but it should be along those lines :)

Yeah thats right.
If your code was 1234 you'd press the 1 button once, the 2 button twice, the 3 button three times and the 4th button 4 times. Once the code is in press the 5 button and you're away.

Simple really :)

Is this for all of em?

No, that was him not reading the op properly and trying to get the poor chap enter the wrong code in his stereo which will lock it for an hour if he does it a couple of times.

You can work out the code from the serial number, I have the software and it always works.
