Windows live messenger wont install

i had been running an earlier version of this, and kept bein promped to update, however each time i tried it just failed

i have tried for a while now but cannot find a solution, i have also tried uninstalling whats currently there and tried installing previous versions but again no luck here

im using vista x 64

all help appreciated

Have you tried a repair install of Vista? That looks like a Windows application that is 'missing' rather than a Messenger one.

no i have not tried this....

just had a quick read about it and it says it may not work if you have sp1 installed, which i have.

I've got Vista SP1 installed and have had no problems installing WLM.
