ive been to a couple gigs by myself, definatley take in the music a lot more,
the times ive been with friends we often get seperated by the crowd anyhow so doesnt make much difference,
just have a drink or 2, jump in and have fun

i went too t in the park on my own in 2002 as none of my freinds were going, was awesome changed my life perspective forever 
was my first proper gig never looked back , i went too see metallica on my own in 2003 as my freind had pulled out at the last minute as he couldent afford the transport too earls court , went down myself and had a great time down in london , until the next day when i realised i had ran outta money and lost my underground ticket had a major walk too the train station
