Basically, i want to limit the downstream and upstream to my sisters laptop. When I play games online, she uses msn and does webcam conversations and youtube stuff. Is there anyway to limit the bandwith she gets through the router?

I have the D-link DIR-615 that came with my virgin 20meg, also what would be an acceptable limit? 1meg down 0.1meg up? that will be enough for her just on msn and youtube?

Thanks

You might be able to prioritise your gaming traffic using the routers QoS facilities, but you won't be able to limit the bandwidth to your sisters laptop.

Yeah ryan 1mb down and 0.1 up will be fine, and i am sure there is facility in the router settings to limit traffic
Consumer routers are clever enough to be able to prioritise different types of traffic based on the ports they use. They're not clever enough to allocate specific amounts of bandwidth to individual devices.
