Sony has stressed that it can compete technology-wise with the promise of Microsoft's Project Natal, saying that it's Eye-powered facial recognition tech can detect gender, age, distinct facial features and whether the subject is smiling.

Gender is pretty easy for normal people, as are facial features and smile detection. The age detection will be a lot easier for certain races and if it's a band of 10 years then again it's not too tricky, but I can't imagine it working well across the board.

Well the photo app on the PS3 does so i don't see why they couldn't programme software for the playstation eye to do the same.
