After a few weird lockups on my system ( + after the subsequent restart the BIOS not being able to find the boot sector and thus not working until I switched the machine off properly), I noticed the following SMART monitoring problem with my Samsung drive:

184 (B8) End to End Error 99 1 1 150

Windows is also constantly asking me to back up my data and replace the drive.

Has anyone had experience of this problem themselves? Would a reformat have any effect or is binning/RMAing/replacing the only viable solution?

Thanks, dudes.

Have you run HDTune and looked at the Health section? If so does it look something like the screenshot in post 2 of my thread? http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18048430

If it does then your going to need to RMA it but I would first run Samsung's ES-Tool http://www.samsung.com/global/busine...s/ES_Tool.html

If it comes up with errors then you'll need to RMA it through Samsung http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/warranty/Support_Warranty.html You used to do it direct through Rexo who dealt with HDD RMA's but it seems to have changed within the last week and now you have to go through Samsung.
