The wireless router is a NETGEAR DG834GT 108Mbps.

I'm considering the following two devices:

NETGEAR WG311T 108Mbps PCI card
NETGEAR WG111T 108Mbps USB 2.0 adapter

Which would be my best option? Perhaps I can do better?

Thanks in advance!

PCI as an interface is better suited to networking than USB, and having your wireless gubbins on an expansion card inside your PC rather than crammed into a dongle means it's less likely to overheat. One nice thing about USB adapters is you can put them on the end of a USB cable and move them around for better reception, but then you can get a PCI card with a separate antenna if reception is an issue round the back of the PC.

I'd also steer clear of Netgear adapters as their Smart Wizard software is rancid and sometimes unavoidable. Go for one of the Edimax ones and let Windows manage it.

I can reccomend the EW-7727In.

If you see my thread below, it's not 100% solved my issue with games but the problem is a lot better than it was.

Reception is also very good on this card with 2 removable Antenae.
