Never built a pc before so be gentle

I have a gigabyte mobo with two power sockets on it. One is a 2*12 socket and one is a 2*4. My power supply comes with a 2*10 connector and two 2*2 connectors. One of the 2*2 connectors clearly can connect to the 2*10 as then to the mobo but that leaves only one to plug into the other socket. The mobo manual is confusing so.......

Do I need a different power supply?

What do I plug where as there seems to be more sockets on the mobo than lugs from the power supply.

The 2 X 12 is the main ATX connector which is 24 pin, on older board's it was 20 pin.
The 2 X 2 makes up the 24 pin for new motherboards.

New motherboards have 8 pin or 4 pin power connector, this supply's power to the cpu area, without this your system will not work and a new psu will be in order.
