right. well id sugest an AM3 build. what kind of games will you be playing at what resolution?

someone else said this to me, tbh its more for music editing etc than games, cus i've got an xbox360 for that, but i'll probably be playing call of duty and command and conquer on the computer cus i hate doing it with the comtroller lol.

Judging by your usage i would steer away from a dual core set up and consider a quad core, the likes of an i5. This will be far superior if you are running numerous programs at the same time. Also there would be an improvement in fps performance when it comes to gaming.

I substituted your cpu for this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-301-IN

Motherboard for this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-363-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1495

And memory:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-041-GS

Power supply:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-030-OC

Cpu cooler to:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-035-AR

But kept your case, gpu etc and it came upto around 630. I know this is over your budget but you will get a better life out of this kit than you would using 'old' 775 tech.
